Course Superintendent's Message
June 2026
We have reached the summer solstice, we have finally had some growing weather these past couple weeks, and the golf course is reaching peak form as we start the summer season.
What is happening on the golf course right now?
- robotic mower demonstrations on #1 and #18. We are experimenting with mowing rough, mowing rough on slopes, and mowing fairway height turf.
- the bridge on #17 was replaced with a newly constructed one thanks to Brad Normand (fellow member) and his team from Westwood Tree Services for helping us out!
- aeration holes have fully healed from last falls Drill and Fill event
- winter injury areas in fairways is almost 100% healed over
- slit drains on #12, #13, and #14 recovered nicely and are blending well with the rest of the green.
- we continue to monitor bunkers for sand depths and exposed liners
- tree pruning / limbing will take place on June 29th to remove hanging limbs from wind storms, and open up tee shots on #4 and #13
Here's to a great peak season at Cataraqui!
