Course Superintendent's Message
November 2025,
After a tumultuous November, the golf course is finally winterized for the season. It was a challenging winterization process with rain, freezing conditions, snow, and everything in between. We really are at the mercy of the weather when it comes to winterization, and even the windy conditions can set us back with our winter protectant fungicides - some days we cannot spray due to high winds.
The following items were completed over the course of the three weeks following the course closure:
- Irrigation system blowout
- Deep-tine aerate fairways
- Topdress and solid tine tees and approaches
- Deep-tine aerate greens
- Spray winter fungicides on greens, tees, fairways
- Heavily topdress greens
- Install insulation layers on greens #4, #6, #8, #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #17, and #18
- Install permeable covers on all greens except the chipping green
While we were winterizing the golf course we were also able to complete the collector drainge network on #18 and #1 as well as install slit drainage into greens #12, #13, and #14.
Thank you again for another memorable season and enjoy your winter and holiday season.
Regards,
Matthew
