Seasonal Course Closure

November 1st, 2022

We have made the decision to close the golf course for the season at the end of the day Tuesday, November 8th. We have been fortunate to have experienced some exceptional fall weather for golf, and you will be able to enjoy the next week of weather in the low to mid-teens before the weather dips into the single digits.

This is a difficult decision as we all wish to experience as much golf as possible, however, there is a balance between an open golf course and being able to efficiently complete the work that remains to be done to winterize the property.  Please see a list of items below that Matthew and his team are planning to complete before ground conditions become unfavourable.

  • Final cutting of all surfaces
  • Deep-tine aeration on all greens
  • Core aeration of #1 green
  • Deep-tine aeration on the driving range tee and #6, #13, and #14 fairways
  • Winter protection applications on all playing surfaces (snow mould applications via the sprayer)
  • Heavy topdressing of greens and tees
  • Tarping greens
  • Collar dam remediation
  • Nursery green construction
  • Irrigation system blowout

Management and the entire Cataraqui Team would like to thank you for your patience and support during the 2022 golfing season. We hope you all enjoy a wonderful “golf off- season” and we look forward to enjoying golf in 2023. In the meantime, please enjoy the Club’s Food and Beverage offerings and for our Curlers, please enjoy Curling.

Sincerely,

Daniel Beauregard, COO
