                          After the Renovation

The golf course was designed by noted Canadian Architect Stanley Thompson and has retained the classic golf course design and features that Stanley Thompson is renowned for. The golf course blends perfectly in its natural surroundings and is always a pleasure to play. The course features classic Thompson bunkers with their sweeping capes and flashes of sand, towering white pines, rolling fairways and small subtly breaking greens that will challenge your shot making skills.
The golf course has hosted many outstanding professional and amateur events. Events have included the Ontario Open, Ontario Ladies Amateur, Canadian PGA Senior Championships, the 2017 Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship and annually plays host to the Women's Eastern Provinces Championship and the Men's 36 Hole Whig Standard Championship.

The list of champions at past events at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club includes:
Marlene Stewart Streit, World Golf Hall of Fame Member
Moe Norman, Royal Canadian Golf Association Hall of Fame Member
Jerry Anderson. Graham Cooke, Warren Sye, Jocelyne Bourassa and Mary Anne LaPointe.
Cataraqui Golf and Country Club is consistently rated in the top 50 courses in Ontario and the Top 100 courses in Canada.  The clubhouse overlooks Lake Ontario and at any time of day is only a 5 minute drive from downtown Kingston.

We can tell you lots about our Stanley Thompson designed Top 100 Course in Canada, but here is what the golf insiders say....
"One of the most enjoyable courses I have ever played. Everything is laid out in front of you; there are few forced carries; and it is just pure natural beauty. Certainly, a course that will be enjoyed by anyone."
                                                                                                               - Score Golf Magazine, the leader in Canadian Golf Media

"The strongest set of par 3s in Canada. The second and 15th are among the best long par 3s I have seen."
                                                                                                              - Score Golf Magazine, the leader in Canadian Golf Media

"If Toronto's celebrated St. Georges Golf and Country Club is Thompson's version of the Sistine Chapel, then Cataraqui is the Pieta in St. Peter's Bascilica - not as well known but no less important an achievement."
                                                                                                             - Ontario Golf Magazine, Robert Thompson

"Cataraqui Golf & Country Club is an outstanding Stanley Thompson designed golf course, that provides a fun and challenging test for golfers of all abilities. The classic design features what Thompson is so well known for can all be found at Cataraqui; undulating but subtle greens and intricately sand flashed bunkers enhance the character of the golf course."

"I am very proud of the long association that our firm has had with the club and I applaud Cataraqui on the tremendous care they have taken in preserving the heritage of Thompson's design, while at the same time making improvements to the course that meet the needs of today's golfers"
                                                                   -  Doug Carrick, ASGCA
